Welcome to All!
My name is Mitzi E. Monroe, an author and founder of Nostalgia Rue, a multimedia publishing and digital entertainment enterprise, based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This is a very special message to invite any person or group to visit Nostalgia Rue without ism's, political agenda's or professional jealousies.
It's unfortunate I have to say the above while extending an open invitation to fellow Greater Las Vegans and anyone anywhere globally who are seeking non-fiction books and information that advocates for an all age thinking agenda that helps me, helps you and helps us find a common interest and ground to strengthen our aging culture in the United States. I hope my voice inspires you. I mean that.
I recently began spreading the word about my books per an AuthorGram via email. As an author-preneur, I have no disillusionments about entrepreneurship from the past, but feel my enterprise is a small P/T job creation that helps me, a baby boomer, build a solopreneur enterprise that realistically utilizes my 35+ years in long term care that reciprocates advocacy for baby boomers and older persons to join other people, young and old, to advocate for a cultural change that eradicates ageism on a positive note.
Unfortunately, there are earth disturbers who, for their personal reasons, never have the nerve to justify why their territorial bullying, their professional jealousy or tribal classism translates into equal parts unwarranted fear why their voice and contribution trumps everyone else's right to contribute their talents. I can only feel ashamed of and pity for guilty parties who feel threatened by their narcissistic feelings of entitlement.
I'm not perfect, but I don't operate in my personal life or professional life with ugly assumptions about others or act out ill behaviors towards others who have a common goal to get in the trenches and do something good that matters for others undermined by ageism in our society.
Nostalgia Rue has a timely voice and a commitment. I started my business to be part of the solution not fuel the problems that created the ageism syndrome that puts many neighbors, family members and community good will in harms way. Trust I don't write for fame or riches. I've been close enough to fame, wealth and celebrity without getting seduced by immortal misgivings. What I write is a calling from my experience and perspective as a professional caregiver, a native black American descendant of slaves, a woman and a baby boomer. Try that combination if you're searching for a challenge and a legitimate legacy.
So, as an example, Cindy Temple (Spirit/Sun City Anthem), I wish you and a couple others associated with Sun City Anthem and anyone else who makes futile attempts at squashing others efforts to build community awareness without borders in the name of selfishness, greed and cold indifference will grow softer rather than harder as you mature. Your behavior will not have me believe your negate attitude is a reflection of Sun City Anthem residents. I forgive you without your permission. Imagine, not everyone acts as you think. Nor will I believe that choice in your community is a threat to your contributions. Jesus is not on vacation. Please take "a" seat.
I don't believe in writing without helping people to find their DIY or group call to action purpose to give back in-kind to each other.
If you're overly clannish, clickish or self-serving to a fault, Nostalgia Rue 's bookshelf is not for you. Otherwise, welcome to my website! Boomers are never too old to learn and grow. Las Vegas is not the most welcoming place I've ever lived but that's no excuse to blame everyone for that dark reputation. Instead, I choose to join those who are welcoming.
Moving forward, it is my pleasure to write non-fiction books that records the past to present history of baby boomers in real time. My publications explore the complex and diverse issues, concerns and positive ideas and outcomes of who we are, aspire to be and potential to become. Not one voice is overlooked in the movement to change the culture of aging. Our humanity is everything, respectfully.
My blog-a-zine, Socialology, explores the niche concerns that permeates the complex culture of aging from the perspective of persons age fifty-plus seeking the ultimate American Dream, a retirement defined on their terms.
To learn more about my signature book collection and blog-a-zine, Socialology, please read my non-fiction book catalog.
After all, there’s more to 50-plus.
Best Always!
